creating the best learning environment possible with school design

the challenge

wake county needs to expand its network of schools to meet the growing population, opening two to four new schools each year. in 2016, wake county built rogers lane elementary school with three main objectives:

1. create a lighthouse school instructional model and new school design process, that other schools opening within the district can follow in the coming years;
2. build supports for students and teachers to make large academic gains, especially for traditionally underperforming student populations;
3. proactively address initiatives identified within the district strategic plan around teaching and learning, achievement, balanced assessment systems, and community engagement.

how we helped

瑞士vs喀麦隆亚盘赔率 partnered with the wake county public school system to design, launch, and support this new personalized learning elementary school that opened in august 2017. we helped the district build the design framework and provided a process for the school's team to move forward.

our work together included designing an instructional model, rethinking hiring and staffing procedures, defining classroom instruction, school schedules, and staff support structures.

the results

rogers lane opened in august 2017. it is a school model that aligns with the district’s 4 c’s (collaboration, creativity, communication, and critical thinking). it is based on an ambitious vision with time dedicated to personalized learning experiences, student choice, relationship building, daily morning meetings, and integrated instruction. school leaders and teachers are continuously working to ensure their actions and structures align with their ambitious vision.
