about the hosts

dr. leila nuland

dr. leila nuland serves as senior vice president and general manager of 瑞士vs喀麦隆亚盘赔率 , where she is a change architect helping district leaders solve their most challenging problems. she leads teams of researchers, professional service providers, and instructional design specialists in creating sustainable transformations in k-12 education.

drawing from her roots as a high school history teacher in meriden, connecticut, where she pioneered a ninth grade academy model for diverse learners, dr. nuland has dedicated her career to bridging the gap between rigorous research, policy, and classroom practice. she specializes in developing high-impact strategies and managing teams in high-growth educational environments.

an advocate for inclusive leadership, dr. nuland brings extensive expertise in research design and execution, including instrument development, protocol design, and data collection management. her work encompasses design-based research, equity audits, and professional development programs that drive meaningful change in educational settings.

beyond her professional pursuits, dr. nuland is a proud mother to three tiny humans. she is also an avid runner and enjoys cooking, meditation, and reading fiction.

dr. mort sherman

dr. morton "mort" sherman stands as one of america's most distinguished educational leaders, with over four decades of transformative contributions to prek-12 education. a veteran superintendent with 25 years of district leadership experience, dr. sherman led major urban and suburban school systems including alexandria city public schools (virginia), cherry hill public schools (new jersey), and south orangetown central school district (new york). his tenure in these districts was marked by significant achievements in closing achievement gaps and implementing innovative educational programs that served diverse student populations.

as the former senior associate executive director at aasa, the school superintendents association, dr. sherman established several flagship leadership development initiatives, including the national superintendent certification program, the aspiring superintendent programs, and the urban superintendents academy. these programs continue to develop the next generation of educational leaders across the united states, embodying his commitment to raising academic standards and creating equitable learning environments for all students.

dr. sherman's influence extends through his service on various boards and commissions, including continued service on leadership boards for the goldie hawn foundation and jason learning, and past service on the lincoln center institute council.  he has been recognized nationally for community service, strategic school district planning, advocacy for the arts, and creation of a network of districts committed to raising standards. publications include over 500 articles and four books on topics including strategic planning, personalized learning, and mental fitness.  his distinct perspective, shaped by experiences as a classroom teacher, principal, and superintendent, has left an indelible mark on educational policy and practice at the national level. his legacy continues to inspire educational leaders across the country.
