before you decide to launch personalized learning in your district it’s important to know your starting point. what are you already doing that you can build upon? what roadblocks might block you from a successful launch? this session will introduce you to 瑞士vs喀麦隆亚盘赔率 ’ personalized learning diagnostic and provide you an opportunity to assess the strengths and areas of focus for your school or district in supporting personalized learning. in this session you will have the opportunity to complete your own personalized learning readiness assessment and create a plan for improving readiness in your school or district. geared towards district and school leaders, this session requires a high degree of participation and will result in your own readiness report and action steps for improving your readiness to launch personalized learning. we encourage you to attend with more than one member of your district if possible.

(a tale of two leaders and four districts)

two district leaders share why they decided to do personalized learning not once, but twice, based on results they saw in their first districts.  scott muri of spring branch isd (fulton county schools) and cindy ambrose of loudoun county public schools (horry county schools) will explain how the lessons they learned helped them make different choices the second time.  this session will explore the impact of district demographics, political context and student needs on personalized learning.

in this highly interactive workshop, participants will be presented with a virtual schools implementation framework and learn about the key elements for a virtual school that enable success, as well as different staffing models that are designed to fit different and unique needs of virtual schools in k-12 education. participants will be given an opportunity to assess the readiness of their own virtual school’s success, and to develop a staffing model that is most efficient for their own school.

this session is geared toward administrators, teachers, and instructional coaches in prek-5. attendees with knowledge of personalized professional development will gain knowledge of specific structures and tools used to inspire teachers. attendees at the novice or beginner level will not only gain knowledge of the specific structures, but will also experience a rotational model. this session provides inspirational tools used to highlight classroom strengths and support teachers and coaches.

communicating a vision for personalized learning is incredibly important and often overlooked.  in this session participants will learn from the approaches of three districts: one focused on mass media (billboards, radio ads), one focused on social media (twitter) and one which focused on the school-level community.  participants will have a chance to learn from experts, each other and try out some new ideas.

a district’s capacity to successfully implement personalized learning hinges on its leadership, its team, its capacity and its funding.  during this session participants will explore how one ny boces (wayne-finger lakes) formed a consortia to bring in national experts to build local capacity for personalized learning in a sustainable way.  the session will cover why, how and what success can look like.

funding for personalized learning has recently increased dramatically with little attention focused on developing superintendents to manage this large scale change.  during this session hosted by don soifer of the lexington institute four superintendents will explore the role of leadership in personalized learning and the fellowship that supported their journey.  participants will walk away with resources for thinking about how their role as leader will impact change in their community.
